We took Norah to the zoo again on Saturday and she's getting a pretty good idea for what her favorites are there. First, she likes to go to the "Russia's Grizzly Coast" exhibit, which features brown bears along with leopards, wild boar and otters. Norah's favorite? The trout that swim in the ponds inside the bear area. What's not to love? They have a see-through tank right at Norah-eye-level. They're constantly moving. We know the sign for fish. And the bears are usually just laying there doing nothing, anyway!
Next, we usually head to the farm. A petting zoo area will always win, and one that allows you to brush the animals is even better! Since Cole is roughly the size of a goat, Norah pretty much just figures this is a pen full of dogs and barges right on in with not an ounce of concern.
Here's our perennially busy child rushing around "brushing" one goat after another. (I say "brushing" because it's really just swatting at them with the brush, while the goat looks on, confused!)
We're so thankful to have such a fun zoo nearby and to the goats I can only say, "Keep your weird goat eyes open, we'll be back!"
