Recap

We're back home safe and sound from a great family Christmas week down in Omaha! We had so much fun there playing board games and cards, testing out new presents, lounging around the house and just generally getting some good QT in with the fam.

The weather made for a long and sometimes treacherous drive home but we made it in one piece. We came home to the pleasant surprise that the damage from the ice dams we had removed from the roof while we were gone was less than we had expected. There were no additional leaks beyond the living room, so now it's just a matter of cleanup, one wall to paint and probably refinishing the woodwork around the window. Everyone slept great back in their own beds (hooray, Norah!) but I think Cole misses having Biscuit to play with and/or harrass!

It's pretty wild how much Norah changed in the past two weeks! She started eating solids (Santa left some rice cereal under the tree) and after two days had it down like she'd been eating for months. Now you can't shovel it in fast enough. Her awareness of things around her is just unbelievable - she watches Cole nonstop, eyes something she wants to play with (like Daddy's scruffy beard) and can grab at it successfully and she wants to be where the action is all the time. She can roll over consecutively now and is starting to push with her feet when she's on her belly. I'm so thankful to be able to be home with her during these times of light-speed growth!
We're wishing everyone a happy new year and a peaceful year ahead! Now, back to unpacking...
