A few highlights of the past week:
On Christmas Eve the weather warmed up a bit and we took the girls sledding. I think it was Holly's first time sledding, and we all had a blast. Not much by way of hills around here (we are in the great plains after all) but we managed to find a moderate slope in the neighborhood where we rode for a while. Everyone had a blast.
Christmas morning was an early start as Santa came with a sack full of presents, so at 6:30 we were drinking coffee and opening presents.
Saturday night was Jim and Elizabeth's anniversary, so as a gift to each other they took the adults out to dinner. We went to a little Italian joint called Nicola's. Food was awesome company was great, and it was nice to get out of the house for an evening. Jamie had a wonderful Lobster Ravioli dish, I had Tortellini with Meatballs and we shared a cup of Italian Wedding Soup and a Salad. After dinner we drove to downtown Omaha for a night cap drink and dessert. We ended up at The French Cafe (voted Omaha's most Romantic Restaurant) where we shared Bananas Foster, Chocolate Mouse and Creme Brule.
All the girls went to Iowa yesterday for the night to visit Grandma Thoma while the men stayed with the little girls. Last night dinner was a bachelor dinner if there ever was one, burritos and beers while watching The Dark Knight. The little ones had Mickey D's and watched Freaky Friday in the basement.
Looking forward to some bowl games over the next couple of days while I continue to enjoy my Seinfeldian vacation.
