Travel with me back in time to last August. Norah's a couple of weeks old. Oliver's been at his job for about two months. He comes home from work with a large box:
Oliver: We got a baby present from the NBA.
Me: Huh? From who?
Oliver: From the NBA.
Me: Like the NBA NBA??
Oliver: Yeah. Open it.
Here's the part where you envision things that the NBA might have sent our baby. A mini autographed basketball? No. A tiny Lakers cheerleader uniform? Thank God, no. Timberwolves season tickets for the 2020 season? Wrong again.
They sent this:
A customized baby rocking chair hand-painted with roses. It's darling, but does this not seem way more "crafty older lady down the block" than NBA sponsor relations? Maybe it's the Official Folds-Up-For-Easy-Traveling Baby Rocking Chair of the NBA?
Regardless, Norah now fits in it and you can tell she thinks she's pretty hot stuff sittin' all big-girl style! While she's still not super-sturdy in it, it's got these ingenious little pegs at the front of the rockers that make it really hard for her to tip forward. Now if she can just get the book flipped around...
