Since we've got a great big garden area (for a city house) and since Oliver won't let me raise chickens yet, we have to keep coming up with new ideas of things to do in the back yard. And as our homebrewing hobby turns into more of a homebrewing addiction, the obvious next step is growing our own ingredients.
I pre-ordered some hop rhizomes from the brewers' supply store and got the call over the weekend that they were ready to be picked up. I was a bit surprised to receive these:
Nope, they're not just twigs in the yard, they're Cascade Hops. Or they will be. And hopefully they'll have a lovely time growing over this:
